‘Laapataa Ladies’ Movie Screening at Supreme Court Today, Ms. Kiran Rao and Mr. Aamir Khan to attend

Today (August 09, 2024), the Supreme Court (SC) of India will screen the ‘Laapataa Ladies’ movie, based on gender equality, for all the Supreme Court judges, their spouses, and members of the registry. The screening will take place after the court hours at 4:15 PM and will also be attended by film director Kiran Rao, and veteran Bollywood actor and producer of the movie Aamir Khan. This initiative is part of Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud’s emphasis year-round gender sensitization program at the SC. On August 08, 2024, a communication was circulated by the administration section of the top court stating, “As part of the activities organized during the seventy-fifth year of the establishment of the Supreme Court of India, the movie ‘Laapataa Ladies’ which is based on the theme of gender equality, will be screened on Friday, 9 August 2024 in Auditorium, C-Block, Administrative Building Complex. Ms. Kiran Rao, who has directed the movie, and Mr. Aamir Khan, Producer, will also be present during the screening.” As per the schedule, the CJI, SC judges, their families, and members of the registry will arrive for screening at 3:45 PM. Screening of the movie, ‘Laapataa Ladies’ will begin at 4:15 PM and interaction with Ms. Kiran Rao and Mr. Aamir Khan will initiate at 6:20 PM.
