The Supreme Court on Wednesday stayed the Madras HC which restrained the passing of any unannounced resolutions within the meeting of the AIADMK general and executive councils concerning the problem of single leadership of the party.
A vacation bench of Justices Dinesh Maheshwari and Krishna Murari issued notices on the plea of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami challenging the Madras state HC order.
"Notice is issued to respondents, returnable in time period seeable of the facts and circumstances of the case and material of litigation and state HC orders, it's considered appropriate that operation and effect of order 23rd June, 2022 shall remain stayed," the bench said.
The HC division bench had held a rare sitting past midnight and passed the order at 4 am on 23rd June.
The court had ruled that no unannounced resolutions may be haunted at the meeting of the AIADMK general and executive councils here, restraining the camp led by joint coordinator Palaniswami from initiating any such move the possible single leadership issue.
