The Top Court to look at case against the collegium system

CJI D.Y. Chandrachud today guaranteed that the apex court would go through the new plea challenging the system of collegium during the transfers and appointments of High courts and Supreme Court Judges in our country.

CJ Chandrachud told and gave clear confirmation to lawyer Mathews J. Nedumpara at the time of the first session of court proceedings when he requested for immediate noting of a writ petition filed by him in the apex court

As per the present collegium system chief justice of India along with other first two senior most justices in the apex court can transfer the High court justices.

As per the appointments of justices to top court and high court chief justices along with CJI of India other four senior judges of Supreme Court will be there in the collegium system 

Bench composed of Justices Hima Kohli and J.B. Pardiwala, the CJI delivered that 5 judge Bench already upheld the Collgium case in 2015 for the formation of NJAC.

As per the petition, A new system should be brought in place of the Collegium system as this practice degrades merit and talent.
Then Nedumpura informed about the new plea, Then CJI noted that will definitely take up this case in the list of cases in the meantime of the court.

“in the denial of equal opportunity for the petitioners and thousands of lawyers who are eligible, meritorious and who deserve to be considered” Nedumpura informed the three judge bench.
