President Droupadi Murmu Unveils New Flag and Insignia of Supreme Court to Commemorate its 75th Anniversary

On September 01, 2024 (Sunday), the President of India Droupadi Murmu unveiled the flag and insignia of the Supreme Court of India to commemorate its 75th anniversary at the valedictory ceremony of the National Conference of District Judiciary in New Delhi. The National Institute of Fashion Technology, New Delhi conceptualized the new flag and insignia symbolizing justice and democracy. The flag features the Ashok Chakra, the Iconic Supreme Court building, and the book of the Constitution of India. While addressing the valedictory session, the President of India called for a change in the ‘culture of adjournments’ in the judiciary pointing towards the delay in court decisions in heinous crimes such as rape. Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal, Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud, and other dignitaries attended the event organized at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.
