On 7 July, 2023, Justice Krishna Murari while bidding adieu at a farewell function organized by the Supreme Court Bar Association said that the Supreme Court is an embodiment of India's diverse civilization. Justice Murari also mentioned in his speech that the top Court protects the arch of the Constitution which further guards the nation. He stated, “If our Constitution is the arch on the edifice of which our nation rests, then the Supreme Court is the key stone holding this Constitutional arch in place. All players will come and go, but this Supreme Court shall continue to function.” In his speech, he also requested the senior members of the Court to give more opportunities to the juniors to boost their courage, “I urge seniors to give ample opportunities to juniors. One can be a good lawyer, but all of them need a platform to showcase their talent. I always encouraged the younger members of the BAR to argue.”
During the farewell function, Justice Murari recalled his initial days at the Court as a member of the Constitution bench which was announced to be paperless. He said, “When I was sitting on the Constitution bench, the CJI suddenly announced that this bench was going to be a green bench. I whispered in his ears that I didn't know anything about computer operations. But the CJI said ‘I will make you learn’. The forest day was very embarrassing. I was not able to operate it. Brother Narasimha then tilted his iPad so I could see. The very same evening, I asked my law clerks to guide me. It’s only after that I could carry on with the Constitution bench.” In this context, he also added that "Learning is a life-long process" asking the Supreme Court Advocates and Judges to keep learning new things.
Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud also praised Justice Murari and described him as a 'humble craftsman' who worked passionately and dedicatedly to the law. CJI said, "My Association with him traces back to when I took over as Allahabad CJ in 2013. He was always very calm, the perfect demeanor for a judge. He shared with me yesterday that he's never lost his temper at a member of the Bar throughout his judicial career." Moreover, CJI also praised him for his quick adaptation skills, "Even though he was not initially conversant with using an iPad and a laptop, he learnt very quickly. It was primarily because of the cooperation of Justice Murari and my other colleagues that we were able to go paperless." In his speech, CJI recited a sher for Justice Murari, "Musafir hai hum bhi, musafir ho tum bhi, kisi mod par fir mulaqat hogi." Other Judges and Advocates also praised Justice Murari and shared their experience while working with him.
During his four-year tenure as a Supreme Court judge, he gave various important judgments as well as was one of the members of the Constitution bench in cases Shiv Sena Case, Delhi government's legislative and executive powers over administration, and various others.
