Apex court dismisses the plea filed by 20-year-old petitioner Saloni to suspend the 2021 UG NEET exam

NEET 2021 Exam Result is now expected to be out soon as the top Court has refused to cancel the UG NEET exam. The Apex Court dismissed the plea and said that lakhs of students cannot be made to suffer.


 

The petition, filed by undergraduate medical aspirants, alleged paper leaks and malpractices in the entrance exam. It cited FIRs filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) regarding the involvement of coaching centers and paper-solving gangs in the matter.


 

Advocate Ninad Dogra, appearing for the petitioner, submitted that CBI has registered three FIRs and examination papers were leaked on WhatsApp.


 

The Supreme Court bench of Justices L.Nageswara Rao and BR Gavai headed by justice L.Nageswara Rao "What kind of writs are filed? Lakhs of people have taken these exams. You know that the Court is not going to interfere with an exam where 7 and a half lakh students have taken on the basis of five FIRs, how can the exam be canceled ".


 

It also said that it will impose costs on the lawyer for advising the client to file the plea. "Costs will not be imposed but we will remember you. Next time there is such a case, we will definitely impose costs on you," the Court cautioned the lawyer.


 

With such a decision, the exam conducting authority, National Testing Agency, NTA is likely to release the NEET 2021 Result date soon along with the Answer Key for the UG NEET exam. After objections are received from students, the exam result would be released.
