Delhi Excise Policy case: Arvind Kejriwal withdraws plea in Supreme Court challenging ED’s arrest and says, “We will argue the remand”

Today (March 22, 2024), Delhi Chief Minister (CM) Arvind Kejriwal withdrew his petition from the Supreme Court (SC) challenging ED’s arrest in connection with the Delhi Excise Policy case. Senior Advocate Dr. Abhishek Manu Singhvi appearing for Kejriwal said, “We are withdrawing the petition here as it is clashing with the remand. We will argue the remand and come back here. I will give a letter to the Registry.” Justice Sanjiv Khanna said, “You need not be present, you may go there.” he further added, “Okay give a letter to the Registry.” Yesterday (March 21, 2024), a division bench of the Delhi High Court denied interim protection from coercive action by the ED to the AAP leader and said, “We have heard both sides. However, at this stage, we are not inclined to pass any order.”
