While responding to a batch of requests filed against the MCD drive, the loftiest court directed the pleaders to" more" approach the bench.

The top court ruled this while responding to a CPI (M) plea against the obliteration of structures in South Delhi's Shaheen Bagh area." Let the affected parties come to court,"the Supreme Court said.

The order came whilst demurrers erupted in Shaheen Bagh on Monday with numerous people, including women, opposing the SDMC anti-encroachment drive as bulldozers rolled into the world within the presence of heavy police help.

Following the kick, the SDMC officers, who were a part of the anti-encroachment drive, returned with bulldozers without conducting the exercise, a political seeker said.

Protesters raised taglines against the BJP- ruled South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) likewise because of the central government and demanded that the action should be stopped. Some women protestors also stood before bulldozers to stop the exercise.

Before within the day, leaders from the Aam Aadmi Party and Congress also reached the spot and offered a dharna. The kick also caused heavy business tailbacks in Shaheen Bagh, Kalindi Kunj, Jaitpur, Sarita Vihar and Mathura Road among other areas. SDMC's Central Zone Chairman Rajpal Singh told PTI that the illegal structures could not be removed because of demurrers.

In December 2019, Shaheen Bagh was the centre of demurrers and sit- sways against the Citizenship ( Correction) Act. The sit- heft was called off in March 2020 when the COVID-19 epidemic had struck the city.

Last month, an anti-encroachment drive conducted by the North Delhi Municipal Corporation within the Jahangirpuri area, which witnessed violence between two communities on April 16, drew wide review.

The Supreme Court had to intermediate to help the action there.

Singh said that removing encroachment from any area is an obligatory function that the communal body is doing." Demurrers being held are politically-motivated. we're going to do whatever we have got to get relieve of the encroachment. Our bulldozers and exchanges are still there (in Shaheen Bagh),"Singh said.

Elderly police officers were also present at the spot together with their help to produce security to SDMC officers to hold out the anti-encroachment drive within the area.

Civil forces were also stationed to manage matters, officers said. As South MCD officers with bulldozers reached Shaheen Bagh, some locals started removing their" illegal structures".

Delhi Congress leaders, including the party's media cellvice-chairman Parvez Alam, were among those detained by the police. Delhi BJP Chief Adesh Gupta criticised the Congress and AAP for" opposing anti-encroachment drive"in Shaheen Bagh.

The plan for the anti-encroachment drive comes after Gupta wrote to the mayors of South and East pots on April 20 seeking"the junking of encroachments by Rohingyas, Bangladeshis and anti-social rudiments"in their areas.

Last month, a drive was planned in Okhla and Jasola but it could not be executed thanks to the attainability of the force, said SDMC's Central Zone Chairman Singh.

On May 10, the anti-encroachment drive are going to be conducted near Gurudwara Road near New Musketeers Colony while on May 11, it will be conducted in Meharchand Market, Lodhi Colony near Sai Baba Mandir and near JLN Metro station, he said.
