On February 06, 2025 (Today), The three-judge bench of the Supreme Court (SC) ordered the transfer of all the cases filed in various High Courts related to the result of CLAT-2025 (Common Law Admission Test-2025) to the Delhi High Court. The petitions challenged the results of the CLAT held in December 2024 for admissions in various National Law Universities to undergraduate and post-graduate law courses. The bench of Chief Justice of India (CJI) Sanjiv Khanna, Justice KV Viswanathan, and Justice PV Sanjay Kumar ordered, “Relating to CLAT PG, UG matters be transferred to DB of Delhi HC where...The records are to be transferred expeditiously within 7 days.” It added, “We are also inclined to pass an omnibus order that in case any other High Court or in any other matter, the respondent/ Consortium of Universities are entitled to file a copy of this order before the HC for transfer of case to Delhi High Court.” Currently, the petitions are pending in the Delhi High Court, Karnataka High Court, Jharkhand High Court, Bombay High Court, Rajasthan High Court, Madhya Pradesh High Court, and Punjab & Haryana High Court.
