Ministry Of Law and Justice Notifies Elevation Of Chief Justices to 8 High Courts

On September 21, 2024 (Saturday), the Ministry of Law and Justice notified the elevation of Chief Justices to 8 High Courts, following recommendations from the Supreme Court (SC) Collegium. Following are the names of Judges appointed as the Chief Justice of 8 High Courts.

  1. Justice Manmohan- Acting Chief Justice of Delhi High Court- Appointed as the regular Chief Justice of Delhi High Court.
  2. Justice Suresh Kait- Judge from the Delhi High Court- Appointed as the Chief Justice of Madhya Pradesh High Court.
  3. Justice Rajiv Shakdher- Judge from the Delhi High Court- Appointed as the Chief Justice of Himachal Pradesh High Court.
  4. Justice Nitin Madhukar Jamdar- Judge from the Bombay High Court- Appointed as the Chief Justice of Kerala High Court.
  5. Justice Indra Prasanna Mukherji- Judge from the Calcutta High Court- Appointed as the Chief Justice of Meghalaya High Court.
  6. Justice Shriram Kalpathi Rajendran- Judge from the Bombay High Court- Appointed as the Chief Justice of Madras High Court.
  7. Justice Tashi Rabstan- Acting Chief Justice of the Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh High Court- Appointed as the regular Chief Justice of the Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh High Court.
  8. Justice MS Ramachandra Rao- Previous Chief Justice of the Himachal Pradesh High Court- Transferred to the Jharkhand High Court.
