Delhi Liquor Policy Scam: Supreme Court adjourns till September 05 hearing of Arvind Kejriwal’s bail plea in CBI case

In a recent development concerning Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s pleas challenging his arrest and seeking bail in the case registered by the CBI, today (August 23, 2024), the Supreme Court (SC) of India adjourned the hearing and posted the matter on September 05, 2024. The AAP chief was arrested by CBI on June 26, 2024, over an alleged Delhi liquor policy scam. The bench of Justice Ujjal Bhuyan and Justice Surya Kant adjourned the matter after the Additional Solicitor General SV Raju sought time to file a counter-affidavit in one of the AAP chief’s petitions. The top court; therefore, granted time to CBI and Kejriwal to file a counter-affidavit and a rejoinder respectively, and posted the matter to September 05, 2024.
